Rare Bugatti car uncovered after 50 years

Unbelievable that someone had this car for so many years and
never sold it. He could have used the huge money he would have
got for helping people, instead of the car gathering dust in the
garage. What do you think?

Since they were a surgeon, it is most likely they helped people every day.

I would also assume they paid substantial tax over the years.

Don't see why having a car sitting in a garage implies they could have done more to "help people"

Just my two cents.

Hi Karl,

I'm sure he helped a lot of people and paid a lot of taxes.

It just that it seems like such a waste...to let the car sits there.
I hope that at least he looked at it once in a while.

My 4 cents

It's too bad he didn't take it out for a spin more. While not on this scale necessarily, I think there are many examples of people holding onto things that they could donate or share, but never do. In fact, it reminds me that I should do an inventory of all the things that I don't use anymore...

Thank you for coming by my Villigen blog. Best wishes to you and yours for the new year!

Hi Z,

I agree with you about decluttering and giving the stuff that you don't need to someone who
can use it instead.

That's exactly what I have been doing for the last few days. It's unbelievable the "things" that we buy and forget about them after a while.

I agree that it seems to be a waste to let the car languish that way. Maybe they did not know the value of it? I guess we all have things that would better serve others if we could only bear to part with them. Then again, how many people would sell it and use the money to do good works?

I just came back from visiting my family in the German part of Switzerland. My brother has a collection of vintage cars. Among them a beautiful Talbot. It was hidden for years in a barn and when he got it, he restaured it. It took him years and when it was done, he was so pleased that he donated 10 % of the amount he spent to charity.
