Helping To Find A Cure For Alzheimer's Disease

What could be greater than finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease
in the next few years?

How many lives would be made happier
and healthier because of it?

An estimated 4.5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease.
The number of Americans with Alzheimer's has more than doubled since 1980.

September 21 - 2004 - will be World Alzheimer’s Day.
Let's all try to do something special on this day
to help eradicate this nasty disease.

One person who is trying to do something about it is Bruce Schwartz.
Bruce is the author of the hit novel THE TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY.
He has made the commitment to donate all of his author’s royalties ($10.00 per book) from now till the end of the year to the Alzheimer’s Association. He hopes for this New Year, that you will help him help others.

If you love a good novel, now would be a great time to grab one
and help your fellow human beings at the same time.

Delicious Soups

All this talk about mouth watering recipes
just reminded me of letting you in on a little
secret.

I have stuffed my little face on some delicious
soups for the last 10 months. Since a friend of
mine introduced me to them, I have become
hooked.

My favorite one is the creamy potato soup.
No doubt about that! It's so filling that it is
usually all I eat for my super. Sometimes I
add a little tuna to it, it is super good that way.

By the way, you can get a Free Giant Soup Sample
right now just by paying the S/H of $3.50.
Worth every penny. Trust me on this one.

Cooking For Engineers?

This is certain to bring a little joy to
those of you folks who love cooking.

I found this fantastic blog where
you can get some great recipes to
try at home. The beauty of this blog
is that the author illustrates with photos
every step that he takes in order to do the recipe.

I spent some time there, and I am going to try
the peanut butter cookie recipe, it sure sounds
delicious.

A word of caution here:
Just don't try all the recipes at once even
if your mouth is watering when reading the blog.

A Great Directory For Blogs

I was just reading about Blogging and
how popular it has become.

I can understand why! It's so interesting
to read about different points of view from
so many people all over the world.

One of my favorite blogs right now is
from a canadian guy who has started a
directory of blogs.

The succes he is having with
the Alexa bar is incredible.

Another thing that I learnt this morning is
that Google is allowing bloggers to post their
Google AdSense on their blogs.

Interesting...........
I wonder how many fortunes are going to
start that way......

For today, I would like to just take
a few minutes to reflect on 9/11.

My thoughts are with all the victim's families
on this day of anniversary.

May they all find peace in their heart!

Sun Is Good For You

The sun finally came back to us. What a joy!

I find it so amazing how our attitude
can change with the weather.

As a matter of fact, not long ago, I was reading about
how the sun affects our mental health.

When you go out into the sun, your body produces
vitamin D and that in turn releases Serotonin.

As Serotonin is the brain chemical related to one person's
mood, it makes sense if you don't have enough of those little guys,
that you can become pretty depressed.

It goes withoug saying that the more sun you get,
the more vitamin D you get and the more Serotonin you get.

Therefore the happier you are when all
those elements come together for you.

Unfortunately, not all people are wired the same way.
Some people have more difficulty than others to produce Serotonin.
Those cases are very affected by the lack of sun.
That's why they sufffer from what is called" Sad" syndrome
during the short days of winter.

Many people who are affected that way will find
help by using a special Light Box which will give
them the same results as if they were sitting in the
sun without the harmful UV.

Now, get out there and SIT in that SUN!
Your brain will thank you for it.

There Are Some Good People Out There

Even though today is a miserable one outside
I choose to make it as happy as can be.

So, here I am again surfing and finding
good stories that bring out the best in people.

Stop the surfing! I just found a wonderful story
that was published in the
Cambridge Chronicle. And here is the link
so you can go there and read it for yourself
and get another proof that there are some
good people out there, there are some good
news out there.

As always feel free to leave your comments.
